Hay Fever

Hay fever Who would believe that the common Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) that we all so dislike could be such a friend? Nettle has been used by man for hundreds of years not only as a food in soups, stews and cheese making, but it is also as a medicine for treating many ailments including Allergic Rhinitis (Hay fever), Iron deficiency and Hypertension. This prickly plant is one of our greatest allies against the annual problem of sniffling, sneezing, itchy and watery eyes. Studies have shown that it contains compounds which act as antihistamines to alleviate the symptoms of Hay fever enabling us to enjoy the sunshine and open air. Here at the Salix Health And WellBeing Centre, we have Handcrafted and Pukka Teas and Tinctures containing Nettle, and other useful Hay fever remedies like Homeopathy and Schuessler Tissue Salts.
